Recap: Akamai at the Great Indian Developer Summit in Bangalore

May 2, 2018 · by Aman Alam ·

The Great Indian Developer Summit recently held its 11th edition in Bangalore, and we on the Akamai Developer Relations team were proud to be a Platinum Sponsor of this influential event. The opportunity to interact with developers and admins like you through sessions and other conversations was extremely valuable to our team members.

The week at GIDS 2018 started with our VP of Developer Relations at Akamai, Nick Tran, presenting to a packed house at the opening keynote, where he shared with developers three fundamental ways to improve mobile performance.

Later in the week, my Akamai colleague Gokul Sengottuvelu and I presented to developers on different days (look back on the entire, incredible speaker lineup here). We shared with our audiences how to supercharge mobile app performance, and how CDNs can play a role in elevating developers’ DevOps processes.

The most exciting part of the GIDS experience for me was meeting so many brilliant software developers. In the Akamai Developer booth, we spoke with fellow developers about what Akamai does and how Akamai is making the Internet awesome for them. It was thrilling to answer so many interesting questions from developers and to discuss with them all of Akamai’s offerings.

We also gave away exciting prizes and swag to the developers visiting our booth, and to make it even more fun we had a challenging quiz going on, which kept many developers glued to the questions as they sharpened their brain muscles.

GIDS 2018 was an exciting step for Akamai in India, and the enthusiasm we saw from developers and admins was off the charts. This is just the beginning, and there’s definitely more to come from Akamai Developer in India.

Until then, stay tuned, and I encourage you to stay up to date with our latest activities by visiting the Akamai Developer home page and joining the Akamai Developer Program.
