Identify the geographic location and network characteristics of your users.

EdgeScape Standard provides an IP-based business intelligence within your infrastructure by running Akamai software, including a DB, a facilitator that handles DB auto-updates, and an API interface. This software allows your origin to quickly lookup geolocation, network, and security information from connected client IPs (including georegion, country_code, region_code, city, Designated Marketing Area, Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area, area code, county, fips, latitude, longitude, time zone, zip, continent, throughput, and AS number) in order to enhance your business logic. EdgeScape's content targeting capability allows you to apply business and geolocation rules to specific end users by using a subset of information to run logic at the Edge, or forwarding that information to the origin using an HTTP header.

Description

continent = string The continent value is a two-letter code for the continent that the IP address maps to.
country_code = string The country_code value is an ISO-3166, two-letter code for the
country where the IP address maps to.
region_code = string The region_code value is an ISO-3166, two-letter code for the state, province, or region where the IP address maps to.
*city = string The city value is the city (within a 50-mile radius) that the IP address maps to.
*dma = string The dma value is a number representing the DMA® that the IP address maps to. DMA® is a registered service mark of The Nielsen Company, all rights reserved.
*msa = string The msa value is a number representing the Metropolitan Statistical Area that the IP address maps to.
*pmsa = string The pmsa value is a number representing the Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area that the IP address maps to.
*areacode = string The areacode value is the area code that the IP address maps to (multiple values possible).
*lat = string The lat value is the latitude that the IP address maps to.
*long = string The long value is the longitude that the IP address maps to.
*county = string The county value is the county that the IP address maps to (multiple values possible).
*timezone = string The timezone value is the time zone that the IP address maps to.
*zip = string The zipcode value is the zipcode that the IP address maps to (multiple values possible).
network = string The network value will be the network that the IP address belongs to (selected networks only -add link to list-)
network_type = string The network type value will be the connection type that the IP address belongs to.
asnum = string The asnum value will be the AS number or numbers that the IP belongs to (multiple values possible).
**throughput = string The throughput is the actual connection speed that the IP address maps to. Note: This attribute will always be set to low for IPv6 addresses.
**bw = integer Provides additional granularity to the ‘throughput’ field.

Note: This attribute will always be set to 1 for IPv6 addresses.

*proxy = string This attribute indicates whether the IP is a proxy and what type of proxy it is (transparent or anonymous).
*company = string The company value will be the company that the IP address belongs to.
*domain = string The domain value will be the domain that the IP address belongs to.
tunnel = string This attribute will only be available when querying for IPv6 addresses, and will indicate if the ip is a Teredo or 6to4 address. The possible values are “teredo” or “6to4”.

*Only available in EdgeScape Pro

**The throughput and .bw fields will have values of “low” and “1” for all IPv6 addresses
